A field experiment was carried out during kharif season of 2001 to evaluate the effect of different plant spacing on yield and yield attributes of different hybrid varieties of rice (PAC-801, Pro-agro hybrid 6201 and MRP-5629). The experiment was laid out in a 3 super(2) factorial randomized block design with nine, treatments and three replications. The variety Pro-agro bybrid-6201 shows highest number of filled grains/panicle, length of panicle, grain yield (9.95 t/ha). Straw yield (10.0 t/ha) test weight, net return (Rs 46,131/ha and benefit cost ratio (3.48). Among the spacings 20 cm row to row and 20 cm plant to plant shows highest number of filled grams/panicle, length of panicle, grain yield (9.81 t/ha), straw (10.25 t/ha), test weight, net return (Rs 41,000/ha) and benefit cost ratio (3.28).
