Potassium Availability under Variable Moisture Regimes in Different Rice Soils of West Bengal

The effects of variable moisture regimes viz. air drying, 50% water holding capacity, continuous submergence, and alternate wetting and drying cycles on the available K status of six different rice growing soils of West Bengal were assessed. The results showed that the highest level of available K was recorded at 50% water holding capacity, while the lowest level by continuous submergence or alternate wetting and drying cycles. Availability of K, however, was remained unaffected at continuous air drying.
