An experiment was conducted in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, during June-December 2001, to determine the optimum plant density for obtaining maximum root yield and active principle component in jeevanthi. The treatments comprised spacings at 2.0x0.5 m, 2.0x1.0 m, 2.0x1.5 m and 2.0x2.0 m. Spacing at 2.0x1.0 m gave the best plant growth and maximum yield with the highest concentration of active principle..
