摘要

The study was conducted to determine the codling moth activity through sex pheromone baited traps and light traps. The first appearance of moth was observed during first fortnight of June with maximum moths trapped, during first fortnight of July, and it was minimum during the end of August. It is decided on the basis of data recorded through traps to spray pesticides during last week of July. For the purpose eight insecticides viz., fenvalerate, dichlorovos, endosulfan. methyl oxidemeton, chlorpyrephos, phosphomidan, dimthoate and methyl parathion were sprayed to manage the pest population below economic injury level. All the tested pesticides were find to be significantly effective, the most effective pesticide was dimethoate (0.05%) with fruit infestation and larval count under burlap were recorded 3.3% and 3.0, respectively followed by fenvalerate (0.025%) 3.78% and 2.3, methyl oxidemeton (0.05%) 3.53% and 5.0, chloropyrephos (0.05%) 5.3 % and 6.7, phosphomidon (0.075%) 5.8% and 6.0, endosulfan (0.05%) 6.0% and 12.3, dichlorvos (0.05%) 6.0% and 11.7, methyl parathion (0.05%) 7.3%, and 7.0, respectively. It is recommended that before using pesticides, burlapping of apple trees and light trap or pheromone trap must be taken in practice from beginning of June to the end of season.
