The study was conducted to determine the utilization of PCR in the diagnosis of peste-des-petits-ruminants (PPR) virus in 20 clinically positive Black Bengal goats of West Bengal, India. Nasal swabs were individually collected for the confirmation of the disease by reverse transcriptase-PCR. Results revealed that 16 samples from the 20 PCR products revealed banding at the 317 bp region. The banding pattern suggested that the goats in West Bengal were infected by PPR virus..
