摘要

The present study deals with the effect of different concentrations of vitamins C (L-Ascarbyl-2- polyphosphate) on feed utilization and breeding of certain live beating ornamental fishes for a period of 60 days. Five different feeds having different concentrations of vitamins C such as 250, 500, 750, 1,000 and 1,250 mg were prepared by using fish meal, groundnut oil cake, wheat flour and tapioca powder. The feed utilization and growth were higher in feed containing 500 mg of vitamin C. The number ofyoung ones produced by the red sword tail Xiphophotus helleri, black molly Poecillia sphenops and platy Xiphophorns maculatus was found to be highest in Ex. Feed 3 (750 mg of vitamin C).
