Studies on the propagation of jackfruit from seed wsre carried out with different chemicals on seed germination and seedling growth. Maximum germination success (98 percent) was obtained in presowing seed treatment with GA 100 ppm. Minimum days (10.66) required for maximum seed germination through water soaking for 24 hours. Promising treatments with respect to germination rate in mean days was observed in treatment with GA 100 ppm as compared to control. Maximum germination value (24.38) was obtained in seeds soaked with watsrfor 24 hours followed by seeds treated with GA 100 ppm where germination value was 16.29. It was found that theco-efficient of velocity of germination was highest in seeds treated with GA 100 ppm concentration, Highest phnt height (25.10 cm) and highest siem diameter (2.36 cm) were recorded by the GA treated and water soaked seeds respectively.
