An experiment was conducted in West Bengal, India, to study the effects of presowing electric current treatment of seeds on the growth and yield of mung bean. A smooth electric current of DC 200V having 4 intensities, i.e. 50, 100, 150 and 200 mA for 1 and 3 minutes, respectively, passed through the seeds. The control seeds were soaked in electrolyte solution only. The total number of branches per plant, total number of nodes and leaves per plant, biological and economic yield, and harvest index increased, however, plant height decreased compared to the control. Electric current at 150 mA induced the highest number of pods per plant (64.60), seed weight per pod (0.283 g), mobilization index (69.62%) and 100-seed weight (3.29 g) while the average pod length (6.09 cm) and average pod weight (0.145 g) was maximum at 100 and 50 mA intensity, respectively..
