A field experiment was conducted on medium duration rice during kharif season of 2006-2007 and 2007--2008 on Inceptisol consisting of 12 treatment combinations arranged in randomized block design and replicated three times with different nutrient management practices in which chemical i.e. T sub(1) (control), T sub(2) (RDF sub(50)) and T sub(3) (RDF sub(30)), T sub(4) (RDF sub(75)) and T sub(5) (RDF sub(100)) and integrated nutrient management i.e. T sub(6) (RDF sub(50) + FYM sub(50)), T sub(7) (RDF sub(75) + FYM sub(25)), T sub(8) (RDF sub(50) + RR sub(50)), T sub(9) (RDF sub(75) + RR sub(25)), T sub(10) (RDF sub(50) + GM sub(50)) T sub(11) (RDF sub(75) + GM sub(25)) and T sub(12) (farmers's practices). Among the chemical fertilizer and integrated nutrients management practices T sub(10) (RDF sub(50) + GM sub(50)) recorded significantly higher availability and uptake of N (272 kg/ha), P (29.45 kg/ha), K (294.67 kg/ha) and grain yield (61.06 q/ha). While the nutrient use efficiency of N in respected of agronomic efficiency (57.70), physiological efficiency (80.08), recovery efficiency (106.01) and factor productivity index (116.07) was significantly higher in T sub(4) (RDF sub(75)), T sub(12) (farmers' practices), T sub(10) (RDF sub(50) + GM sub(50)) and T sub(3) (RDF sub(50)), respectively.
