Human excreta though have high plant nutrient value is being neglected and simply dumped as waste. Out of the human excreta, urine has high nitrogenous fertilizer value than feces. Hence by separating urine in Ecosan toilet, it can be of great use infulfilling the fertilizer demand of the country. The objective of this study was to evaluate the combining effect of human urine with human urine and chemical fertilizers nutrient sources fertilization on the yield of cow pea (Vigina unguiculata L.) by measuring the nutrient content and yield of cow pea. Cow pea were fertilized with 25kg of kg ha~(-1)1 N as chemical fertilizer, human urine, cow urine, other FYM combinations and control (no fertilizers and no human urine). 40% Recommended dose of nitrogen through FYM basal +60% through human urine increased the grain yield (1.031 ha~(-1)) of cowpea when compared to control (0.701 ha" '). Chemical fertilizer produced (1.001 ha~(-1)) Our results showed that human urine can be used as fertil-izer for cow pea and does not pose any significant hygienic threats and leave any significant flavour in food products.
