Studied were conducted to investigate the different provenances of teak for bark percentage, specific gravity and fiber length of wood. The data on bark percentage, specific gravity and fibers length of wood exhibited significant variation in different provenances of teak. The maximum bark percentage 11.83 (3.43) was noticed in TNT-13 and minimum percentage 2.64 (1.62) was obtained in ORPB-18. The maximum fiber length was noticed in APNPL— 11 (1.84 mm) whereas, minimum fiber length was obtained in APKEC-2 (1.25 mm). The highest specific gravity of wood (0.6559) was recorded in ORANP-7 and lowest specific gravity (0.5523) was noticed in ORANP-6. The present investigation was undertaken to ascertain the extent of variation in bark percentage, specific gravity and fiber length of wood in different provenances of teak located at National Teak Germplasm Bank, Lohara, Chandrapur District of Maharashtrain order to utilize the findings and developing future strategies for screening the provenances.
