Analysis of variance showed that significant difference observed for days to flowering, days to maturity and plant height. Correlation analysis indicated that all the traits showed the positive correlation to the economic yield except pods per clusterat genotypic level. At phenotypic level the traits number of primary branches per plant (0.768**), pods per plant (0.172**) and number of secondary branches per plant (0.121*) showed positive and significant correlation to economic seed yield. Path analysis indicated that the traits days to 50% flowering, plant height, number of secondary branches per plant, biological yield and harvest index showed positive direct effect to seed yield. Biological yield showed high indirect effect to the seed yield vianumber of primary branches per plant at genotypic and phenotypic level. Residual effect are 0.6791, 0.5598 at genotypic and phenotypic level respectively. So the traits which showed the positive and significant correlation with positive direct effect toseed yield can be used for the improvement of different genotypes of lentil.
