A line x tester set was obtained by crossing five lines with 3 testers in maize. Fifteen F,'s along with eight parents were evaluated in Randomized Block Design with three replications for ten characters during 2009-2010. Out of 15 crosses, 14 crossesover mid parent and 14 crosses over better parent significantly out yielded for grain yield. The hybrid QPM-14 x S.C.B.7853-1 showed positive significant heterosis over mid parent for grain yield per plant and other yield contributing characters like cob length, cob breadth, number of kernel rows, number of kernels per row, ear weight and 100 seed weight. The hybrid QPM-13 x Co (BC) 1 showed positive significant heterosis over better parent for grain yield per plant and other yield contributing characters.
