EPA Launches Green Hotel System

Determined to keep up with Europe and North America in promoting eco-friendly hotels, the Taiwan EPA recently formulated the Regulatory Standards for Accrediting Green Hotels. PA Minister Stephen Shu-hung Shen stated that the Regulatory Standards for Accrediting Green Hotels will fall into seven categories covering hotel operations: a) Corporate environmental management b) Energy conservation measures c) Water conservation measures d) Green procurement e) Reduction of disposable products and waste f) Management of hazardous materials g) Garbage sorting and recycling
