Getingspindeln, Argiope bruennichi, etablerad och sprider sig norrut i Sverige

The spider Argiope bruennichi was until 2002 only found in Skane, the southernmost province of Sweden, except one finding on the baltic Island Gotland in 1989. In 2002 it was found also in the southeastern province of Blekinge. In 2003 it was recorded300 km north of that, on a locality only 70 km south of Stockholm. The same year were also several new populations found in southernmost Sweden. In the oldest still existing populations, known since 1995-1998, the number of specimen has increased.
