摘要

Sari (2012) highlighted the importance of tensile strength data to fit experimental data to the Hoek-Brown failure criterion. The paper presented a new fitting method and found that it and the method devised by Douglas (2002) (which was originally published in Mostyn and Douglas, 2000) provide "the most suitable procedure for estimating the Hoek-Brown parameters of the Ankara andesite." Unfortunately the paper did not include a comparison with the Mostyn & Douglas method. This note attempts to rectify that oversight.
