Manure to Bioenergy -- Taiwan Draws on EU Experience

While cow manure and sawdust may appear worthless in many people's eyes, it can actually be turned into a valuable energy resource. After the EPA Minister Winston Dang's recent trip to Europe, the EPA has decided to draw on the EU's experience by subsidizing Pingtung County in its efforts to generate electricity from methane from pig effluent. This trend could mark the beqinninq of Taiwan's "Green Economic Miracle."
