Analysis 1: The Market for Electronic Warfare Systems 2011-2020

An estimated $24.6 billion will be spent on the development and production of the major EW programs covered in this analysis over the period 2011-2020. Some 35,702 units of leading electronic countermeasures (ECM), radar warning receivers (RWRs), electronic support measures (ESM), and other EW systems that make up this analysis will be produced. From 2011 through 2015, some 23,661 units will be produced, having a value of $12.6 billion. From 2016 through 2020, 12,041 units will be introduced to the marketplace, at a value of $12.0 billion. With demand being driven by the needs of military forces engaged in significant fighting, it is only natural that the first half of the forecast period will see somewhat higher rates of production.
