Spinel and forsterite bonded magnesia castables for steelmaking applications

Ongoing investigations indicate that it will be possible to produce MgO based castables to meet steelmaker requirements in the near future. The addition of carbon is a promising avenue by which to improve corrosion and structural spallingresistances.
