摘要

This paper describes the concept of Direct Hydraulic Drive using Low Speed High Torque Hydraulic motor without any intermediate gearing. It provides education of some unique features and technical advantages resulting in a very reliable and user friendly drive system for today's growing demand for the continuously operating industry's toughest demand. Many of these features are not known to traditional Engineering and Maintenance personnel as this concept has entered the marketplace through practical applications via OEM and user adaptation. Today more and more consulting Engineers have recognized ideal applications for this alternative drive over traditional Electro-Mechanical drive as a preferred choice. This paper explains principle of operation for DHD and each of its features and benefits relating to productivity, performance and reliability. Examples of some of the popular applications in Mining and Material handling like Conveyors, Feeders, BWR, Crushers, Ball mills, Kilns are illustrated from thousands of world wide installations using this type of drive. This paper also covers most modern improvements and available upgrades with more user friendly electronics and maintenance practices with logging functions for health & trend monitoring, which is very helpful to relate actual load vis design capacity and future expansion. This paper provides overview of useful hints for selecting an optimum drive for certain applications and future expansion provisions to allow for more production with minimum changes in major equipments and improve reliability. It also provides education and guide lines for preventive maintenance practices for Engineers production and maintenance personnel.
