Danieli technology for ultra-light gauge coiling in hot strip endless rolling

The development of a compact minimill technology for hot flat products has introduced new possibilities for producing final strip gauges down to 0.8 mm directly from hot strip band. To reach this result, in addition to the thin slab caster coupled with a hot strip mill in different configurations to roll in endless and semi-endless modes, one of the most critical parts of the plant is the coiling section that must be able to cut and coil ultra-light gauges at very high speed. Danieli Wean United has developed its own advanced technology for a complete coiling section to satisfy this new market demand.
