An Inter ministerial group is set up

To increase steel trade with neighbouring countries the government is setting up a regional steel forum to consult on trade related issues and promote steel trade among the member countries according to the draft National Steel policy prepared by the Ministry of Steel. The government will also set up a permanent inter-ministerial group to deal with iron and steel under the supervision of Ministry of Steel. The government will also boost purchase of steel by government agencies from the domestic industry only.
