Integrated strategy for rolling mill electrical modernization with minimal lost production

To ensure minimal lost production, a quick upgrade from the existing to the modernized plant is a necessity. By changing selected key factors of an existing mill, effective improvements can be obtained. An optimal integrated solution (OPIS) modernization concept can contribute to cost-efficient production. Under the premise of achieving optimal qualities in an optimized (minimized) time for the modernization, an OPIS can best be achieved with close cooperation between the steel producer and the electrical supplier. A close and on-going cooperation allows process performance improvement solutions to be implemented one step at a time as part of a plant modernization program.
