Achieving Stable Setting at Variable Ambient Temperatures in Alumina-spinel Castables

Controlling setting behaviour of refractory castables is not always easy, as it varies with temperature. Setting times for deflocculated castables can be excessively long at low temperatures, and inversely, too short at high temperatures leading to various difficulties at work sites. This article discusses how a new active compound REFPAC? 500 can stabilize the set time at variable ambient temperatures.
