Gassco takes lead at Polarled

Statoil has transferred the operatorship for the Polarled subsea pipeline linking the Aasta Hansteen field in the Norwegian Sea with Nyhamna to Gassco. Polarled is the first subsea pipeline crossing the Arctic Circle on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). The transportation capacity of Polarled is 70 MMcm/d (2.47 Bcf/d) of gas. The pipe laying started at Nyhamna in March 2015 and in September of the same year the last pipe joint was installed at the Aasta Hansteen field.
