NLMK signs service contract with SMS Group

NLMK has signed a five-year service contract with German technology specialist SMS Group on full-time servicing of key steel processing equipment at the steelmaker's BOF facilities in Lipetsk where productivity exceeds 12.5 mt/yr. The project will encourage the implementation of the most advanced industrial technologies in Russia and the localisation of modern European operations to ensure the maintenance of steelmaking equipment. As part of a five-year contract, SMS group experts will ensure the maintenance and repair of all nine continuous casting machines and secondary metallurgy treatment equipment.
