Since its independence, India has experienced steady growth in the steel industry, thanks in part to the successive governments that have supported the industry and pushed for its robust development. A number of steel plants are being established in various parts of India with investments and technological assistance provided by foreign countries. Carrying on with plans of expansion, Indian steel manufacturers to enlarge their span is trying to reach the rural side of the country.
