The Brazilian government Monday requested trade consultations with the European Union to question tariffs recently applied on some kinds of steel imports. Brazil's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the government will attempt to demonstrate during the consultation process that the safeguards adopted by the EU aren't legitimate.
