Major steel producers Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL), Essar Steel, Jindal Steel and Power and JSW Steel have hiked prices of their products by up to Rs. 2,500 a tonne for the month of September due to rising input costs. Other leading steel producers like Tata Steel and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. are also in the process of hiking prices.
