The thing about David MacKay is that he has a knack of making the very complicated sound very simple. His lecture given after the receipt of this year's prestigious Melchett Award from the Energy Institute left me feeling that I had seen the energy and climate conundrum through a lens of clarity; that with some rational thought our problems do not need to be problems and I was silly for thinking otherwise.
