First CHP plant to run on jatropha oil

A combined heat and power (CHP) plant using crude jatropha oil is to be built in Belgium. Wartsila has secured an order for an engine-driven CHP plant that will run on the liquid biofuel to be located in an agricultural area in Merksplas. It is thought the power plant will be the first in the world to produce both electricity and heat using crude jatropha oil as fuel.
