Financing energy saving technologies in the public sector

The issue of carbon management is taking on an ever increasing importance across both private and public sectors. The UK Government has set ambitious targets for the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 2012, and in doing so has laid out its green investment plans to encourage and accelerate the transition to a low carbon economy. More than pound 1.4bn has been committed to support the low carbon sector within the UK. Together with previous announcements made since last autumn, the Government will invest pound 10.4bn in the low carbon and energy saving sectors over the next three years.
