US coal exports fall to six-year low

July US coal exports dropped by 29pc from a year earlier to a six-year low. Shipments fell to 5.12mn short tons (4.62mn t) in July, according to US Census Bureau data. The last time monthly figures were this low was August 2009, when they totalled 5.06mn st.
