'World's largest' offshore wind farm started off the Suffolk coast

International company the Fluor Corporation has signed a contract with Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) to design and build the proposed 500 MW Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm -said to be the world's largest offshore wind farm project to move into the construction phase. It is to be built approximately 25 km off the Suffolk coast. The farm will also be the first UK offshore wind farm to be built outside territorial waters.
