摘要

1,4-Alkanediols of various chain lengths were prepared in 86-94 yields from the corresponding E-3-alkenoic acids via gamma-alkyl-y-butyrolactones by reduction with NaBH4 and ZnCl2 in presence of N,N-dimethylaniline in THF.The purified products were characterized as such and as diacetyl derivatives by Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Mass Spectral Studies.Disodium salts of a series of 1,4-alkanedisulfates were prepared by sulfation of the 1,4-alkanediols with chlorosulfonic acid and subsequent neutralization of the sulfates with aqueous NaOH.The disodium salts of 1,4-alkanedisulfates were examined for various surfactant properties such as surface tension,critical micelle concentration,and wetting,emulsifying and foaming properties,and calcium tolerance.The disulfates were found to possess excellent power of calcium tolerance when compared to sodium dodecyl sulfate.
