摘要

The electrochemical trimerization of 4-tert-butylcatechol via anodic oxidation of 4-tert-butylcatechol (1) is described. The mechanism of trirnerization has been studied in aqueous solution using cyclic voltammetry and controlled-potential coulometry. The electrochemical synthesis of trimer 3a has been successfully performed in an undivided cell in good yield and purity.
