While Engineering Tomorrow poses these questions, the purpose of the book is not necessarily to provide answers, but to stimulate thought and discussion around these topics.The first line of the foreward states, "Let's think very, very carefully about how we engineer tomorrow," and the book is successful in encouraging this thought process. Although the preface credits electronic advances for many of today's technical wonders, a range of topics is covered that would be of interest to all disciplines of engineers, such as the environment, medicine, communications, exploration, and war and peace.
