摘要

Using uniformly distributed YBO _3:Eu ~(3+) phosphors, we demonstrate an emissive luminescent layer applicable to transparent plasma-discharged display panels (PDPs). We prepared uniform and oval-shaped YBO _3:Eu ~(3+) particulates by using a solvothermal method; the particulates were composed of crystalline primary nanoparticles (~10 nm in diameter). We then analyzed the particle morphology, luminescence, and the after-glow behaviors of the resultant nanophosphors. We fabricated prototype highly transparent PDPs and describe their luminance characteristics regarding optimal process conditions. The resultant YBO _3:Eu ~(3+) phosphors with energy-dependent decay behavior can be widely used for the luminescent materials of upcoming display devices, such as three-dimensional imaging and transparent displays.
