摘要

We report on lithium intercalation in porouscarbon films using a silica-based gel as binder instead of organicmaterials such as poly (vinyldene difluoride) and poly(tetrafluoroethylene). Films were fabricated using sol-gel methodwith a series of alkoxy silane precursors. We show that theadhesion, flexibility, and mechanical stability of the carbon filmsdepend on the chemical nature of the precursor. Electrodesprepared using propyltrimethoxy silane as precursor and syntheticgraphite particles had a reversible charge capacity of up to 355mAh g-1, and were stable over multiple cycles.
