InterOil's PNG LNG Plans May Finally Bear Fruit

The path to first LNG has been exhausting for New York-listed InterOil, whose grand ambitions to outdo Exxon Mobil's Papua New Guinea (PNG) liquefaction plans have been reimagined and resized so many times over the last three years that it's nearly impossible to keep track. But a long-anticipated farm-down of InterOil's Elk and Antelope Fields and related liquefaction scheme may finally become reality in coming weeks as the numerous hurdles thwarting a previous partnership are removed. That said, while InterOil may finally have the right cards in hand, it is also taking action to force its potential partners to show their hand as well.
