Oil-Field Service M&ARemains Strong as Deal Values Rise

The number of M&A transactions announced in the oil-field services sector has continued its strong pace into the second half of the year, but the average transaction value has risen, according to a recent analysis of internal and external transaction data by investment bank Barclays Capital. Since Jun. 1, the average deal size has reached nearly $300 million versus an average of $192 million between January and May, when activity was characterized only by a steady stream of smaller transactions.
