Struggling US Solar Market Claims Another Victim

Significant cuts in German federal solar power subsidies have created a domino effect reaching all the way to the US, leading yet another US solar power developer to file for bankruptcy (EIF Sep. 14' 11). Last week's folding of Solar Trust of America, a California-based solar developer and subsidiary of German developer Solar Millennium, puts the future development of some 2,000 megawatts of solar projects at risk, while further exposing the fragility of the US solar market.
