The updated version of BS 7000-3 'Guide for managing the design of services' is now available, In the UK 80 per cent of people are now employed in the service sector and the growth of services is occurring in most industrialised countries. Even in Japan, since the beginning of this century, more people are now employed in services than in manufacturing and it is reckoned that 20 per cent of the employees work on the service side of most manufacturing organisations.
