Reliance's results up on higher prices and volumes

Reliance Industries reports a 27 year on year (YOY) increase in sales for the company's fscal frst quarter ended 30 June, to 905.37 billion Indian rupees ($14.0 billion) with net proft rising 28, to Rs91.08 billion. Pretax proft increased 9, to Rs105.36 million and earnings per share grew 28, to Rs30.8. An increase in prices and volumes for Reliance's refned and petrochemical products and growth in the fuel retail business drove higher sales and earnings, partially ofset by lower prices and volumes from the company's exploration and produc- tion business.
