Geopolitics is the biggest motivating force behind a mooted gas pipe that would run from Israel's offshore Leviathan field to Turkey — and could repair a struggling strategic partnership between the two countries. Istanbul-listed Turcas Petrol is exploring the possibility of financing construction of the pipe, which would be private sector-led but appears to have the tacit support of both governments (EC Feb.22'13).
