Occidental has consolidated its presence in Abu Dhabi with a new concession deal for two small fields, Jam Yaphour and Ramhan — securing a 100% stake as compensation for their marginal potential. Oxy will spend $500 million over three to four years to bring Jam Yaphour back into production, after being moth-balled in the 1990s because of its location in the middle of a populated area, and will appraise Ramhan, which only had one well drilled in the past.
