摘要

Former U.S. Bureau of Mines (USBM) employees, including chemical engineers, metallurgists, mineral engineers, and chemists, have a better idea what lies ahead for them, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) has secured congressional approval of a resolution authorizing Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt to transfer ownership of the USBM's Salt Lake City Research Center to the state for inclusion in the University of Utah's Research Park. Once the title is transferred, a good portion of the 119 laid-off bureau employees are expected to go to work for Earth Science Technology Center, a newly registered subsidiary of U.S. Energetech Ltd.
