Libya's Ghanem Returns as NOC Head

Shokri Ghanem has been reinstated as chairman of Libya's National Oil Corp. (NOC), in an unexpected return to the top oil post two months after he resigned. Speaking at Energy Intelligence's Oil & Money conference in London last week, Ghanem gave no indication he would be returning to the hot seat, saying it was time to "call it a day," and that his future lay in consultancy and advisory work (EC Oct.23,p3).
