Pronal flexible lifting bags are manufactured by the same company that produced the cushions used recently to perform essential boiler maintenance at NSW's Eraring Power Station in 20 per cent of the time it took previously - and completed the job more safely. The enormously strong inflatable bags are made with the same technology as the Pronal balloons used to lift sections of the liner Titanic from nearly four kilometres deep in the Atlantic, says Air Springs Supply national sales manager Simon Agar. Manufactured from plastomer and elastomer coated fabrics vulcanized in a vacuum at 140 deg C, Pronal lifting cushions are designed for loads up to 70 tonnes. Normally inflated with air or any other fluid (water, oil, glycol, etc.) depending on the application, Pronal flexible products are designed to perform mechanical functions such as pushing, pressing, guiding, clamping, blocking, damping, lifting, moving, wedging and materials handling.
