EIA sees 2011 world oil demand at 87.29 million b/d, anaemic growth in supply through 2020

The US EIA expects world oil demand to rise 1.47 million or 1.7% to 87.29 million b/d next year. It also has forecast global oil supply to grow by a mere 0.6% per year between 2011 and 2020. The forecast, contained in the recently released International Energy Outlook 2010, stands in sharp contrast to a forecast in 2007 when the EIA said oil supply would match demand growth.
